Previous details

We will be leaving on the 16th September 2024 (Monday) and will be returning on 23rd September 2024. We will be staying at the Apollonian Asterias Resort and Spa. This hotel offers half board or all inclusive, we would like for our family and friends to stay in the same place or near by as on the wedding day there will be a coach picking up all guests and taking them to the wedding venue (this will take roughly an hour) there will be air conditioned transport provided.

Itinerary

12.00pm: All guests to be at the entrance of the Apollonian Resort and Spa Hotel
12.10pm: Coach departs from the hotel (please note the small ferry boat will be used as part of transportation, times must be kept as planned for everyone's departure from the hotel)
12.30pm: Coach boards the ferry from Lixouri Port
12.55pm: Ferry arrives at Argostoli Port
13.30pm: Coach arrives at the Adromeda Centre (Wedding Venue)
14.00pm: Wedding ceremony begins
14.30pm: Canapés and Prosecco is served
16.00pm: Cutting of the cake
16.15pm: Group Photos
17.30pm: Dinner is served with wine (food menu)
18.00pm: Open bar until Midnight (all drinks included)
18.20pm: Greek dancers perform
18.40pm: Couple and guests join Greek dancers/Smashing plates
19.40pm: DJ Begins
20.20pm: First dance
Midnight night ends

Your presence at our wedding is gift enough, but if you do wish to buy us something, a contribution towards our dream honeymoon would be appreciated.

Grand Blue Beach Residences

Things to do

Petani Beach

Look down on Petani beach from the road above and you'll be amazed by its bright blue waters and stunning scenery. This Blue Flag beach is excellent for swimming and boasts sunbeds, showers and two traditional tavernas. However, you're bound to be most impressed by the unspoilt beauty of this hidden gem.

Vatsa Bay

Vatsa Bay is a sandy beach with plenty of natural shade, which is provided by the lush greenery that surrounds it. This beach is relatively quiet and makes for a relaxing day of sun and swimming. If you're in need of refreshment there are a couple of pretty tavernas serving traditional food and drinks.

Megas Lakos Beach

With its long stretch of red sand and beautiful clear water, Megas Lakos beach is the perfect place to spend a lazy day in the sun. There is a snack bar here and sunbeds are available to hire, but thanks to the length of the beach you can always find a quiet spot. You can even walk from here to XI beach.

Explore old-fashioned cafés

To get a true taste of Greek hospitality during your visit to Lixouri, don't miss the traditional cafés in the main square. These old-fashioned eateries offer everything from coffee and sandwiches to homemade ice cream and beer, all accompanied by music and a warm welcome from the owners.

Gerogombos Lighthouse

The pretty Gerogombos Lighthouse is located a few miles out of Lixouri and is a great vantage point, especially for photographers. The lighthouse itself is modest but the views it offers are breathtaking. Visit in the evening and you may well be treated to a spectacular sunset over the sea.

Restaurants and bars along the waterfront

Lixouri is the second-largest village in Kefalonia, so it boasts plenty of restaurants and bars along its busy waterfront. The main square, Plateia Petritsi, is also home to some traditional cafés, but to enjoy the catch of the day and a vibrant atmosphere, the seafront is the place to be.

Catch the ferry to Argostoli

If you'd like to explore the island's capital of Argostoli during your stay in Lixouri, why not travel there by ferry? Boats leave regularly and take the 20-minute journey across the picturesque bay. On arrival you can visit museums, churches and markets and enjoy a drink or snack at a traditional café.
